Eid Al-Fitr Desert Adventure (April 2-5)
Escape the Ordinary!
Day 01: Into the Heart of the Desert
We leave Cairo and drive through Bahariya Road, passing by the dramatic Black Desert and the shimmering Crystal Mountain. As we venture deeper, the scenery becomes even more breathtaking until we reach Akkabat at Farafra Depression—a magical landscape of beautiful limestone hills surrounded by soft golden sand, creating one of the most picturesque spots in the Western Desert.
By sunset, we arrive at our first campsite, where we set up tents in a peaceful, picturesque spot. As the sky turns golden, we relax while a delicious BBQ dinner is prepared over an open fire. Each night, we’ll enjoy a different menu, featuring a mix of traditional Egyptian flavors and fresh, fire-cooked meals. Under a sky full of stars, we unwind and enjoy the calm, quiet beauty of the desert.
Day 02: Sunrise & Sand Dunes Adventure
Waking up to the soft glow of the sunrise, we enjoy freshly baked bread in the sand and a warm breakfast. The journey continues through the Qaraween and Dakhla dunes, with plenty of stops to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, discover fossils, and admire the endless rolling sands.
Our journey leads to Shawshaw Mountain, a breathtaking natural formation sculpted by time and wind. As we set up our second campsite, we relax and watch another magical desert sunset while our dinner is freshly prepared. Tonight’s meal will be a special desert-style feast, adding another unique flavor to our journey.
Day 03: Hot Springs & Ancient Discoveries
After another peaceful sunrise, we set off towards Kharafesh, a breathtaking stretch of dunes leading to a stunning panoramic viewpoint. The journey takes us to Dakhla Oasis, a lush, green paradise in the middle of the desert.
Before heading to our lodge, we stop at one of Dakhla’s natural hot springs for a perfect chance to relax and soak in the warm, mineral-rich waters. Bring your swimsuit if you’d like to take a dip!
We then visit El-Qasr, a beautifully preserved medieval city built from mudbrick, offering a glimpse into Egypt’s fascinating past. By evening, we check into Sosal Desert Travelers & Lodge, surrounded by palm trees and peaceful gardens. Here, we freshen up, relax, and enjoy a homemade dinner with a local twist as we dine under the stars in this serene oasis.
Day 04: A Scenic Journey Back to Cairo
After enjoying a freshly prepared breakfast in the peaceful surroundings of the lodge, we begin our drive back to Cairo, reflecting on the unforgettable memories made during our desert adventure
